2008 Saturn Aura transmission

I have a thumbing noise everytime I am in low gear. I think it is the transmission, so I wanted to check the fluid but don't know where the stick is

You aren't going to solve anything by adding fluid. Low fluid level will cause other problems like sluggish shifts or slipping. Also, Ford started using sealed transmissions with no dip stick or way to check the fluid level. It's just one more of their many bad ideas, but it wouldn't surprise me if GM copied it.

Depending on the type of noise you're hearing, you might suspect a noisy wheel bearing or broken tire belt. Minor rust on brake rotors can sound worse than it really is too.
