The a/c blows cold air when engine is cold or has cooled down. It will blow cold air for 5-10 minutes then shut off. It will only turn on again if /when thw engine has been turned off and has had time to cool. Dealer wants to change the whole system. $3000 dollars worth. Any input would be great. Thank you.

Kinda of soundsliekit is freezing up meaning to much moisture in system. Any garage can or shold be able to fix this that does a/c. It will probably need a evacuation and recharge plus a new drier for the system shouldn't be that much. Check around local garages.
