acceleration performance problem

my 08 mit. lancer es cvt transmission seems very slow from take off, (about 0-40mph). when i step on the gas i can hear the engine roaring, but I feel that the car is not moving too fast. Im not sure if there is a problem with my car. What do you think?

Get the transmission checked out sounds like its slipping-Check the tranny fluid condition and level if okay bring her in-

is your car moving on the 3rd gear? (1,2,4 out),if it's so then you have a [roblem with one of tow problems:
1.check the transmission computer
2.check the transmission solinoied valve

that is the case if your transmission oil is good
