2008 Mercedes Benz 320e gearbox mercedes E320

Mercedes e320. I drove my car in my workshop. Then removed the engine and gearbox. As the car was hit in the rear. Got a different car with a dead engine in (fuel pump) seized. So I put the engine and gearbox out of my old car. Engine now runs grate. But my problem is that there is no drive at all I can put it in gear (D) (auto). So will I need to get the gearbox reprogrammed for it to work in the car now
