Hello,
Before turning off the engine light and clearing the code(s), you want to make user that the reason the light came on has been addressed.
Check engine light comes on due to an issue with the vehicle and it is important to fix those issues before clearing the code and turning off the light.
In order to turn off the light and clear the codes you will have to use a scan tool. You can to to your local auto parts store and they will have the scanner to clear the code.
