Is the pump running? Do you have power at the pump when the ignition is turned on, is there plenty of fuel in the tank?

Yes is the pump running? Should here the pump prime when you turn on the ignition. Might even be a blocked fuel filter restricting flow rate. You can find that at the side of the tank on the drivers side rear. Don't discount the crank sensor on this engine if you are having starting problems the D4f Renault engine is well known for this problem and a simple clean up of the magnetic tip will normally sort that out.
