2007 BMW 530i Key stuck can't get out

The key got stuck in the ignition and try to take it out but won't come out can't turn it on can't pop the hood can't put it in nutural or can't do much to it what could it be and sometimes when it does turn on it just turns off and the key stays stuck until the dash board lights decide to turn on and we are able to take the key out

Hi,

Have you tried applying some wd-40 while working the key and switch around? this might help, if not it sounds like the tumbler could be worn out which is common on those cars,
