Dash lights and gauges not working properly

I own a 2006 nissan armada. The dash light goes out and all of the gauges stop working. I took it to the dealer, and they said that it was the battery. I have changed the battery and it still is doing it. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

How can the battery cause the dash lights and gauges to stop working?

It is a wiring or control module fault. Testings have to be done to get to the source. Have you tried to retrieve for trouble codes with scan tools? This could be a fault with the Body Control Module.
