Gear down and stay on that gear until I stop

Hi there, my overdrive light blinks somtimes when I start. When I am driving, the car gear down and stay on that gear until I stop, switch off and than restart, only when I switch off only then it works

Have the computer scanned to identify what the trouble code is.

Could it be the revolution sensor also known as the speed sensor and the turbine sensor? Or could it be the solenoin box? PLEASE HELP AND ADVISE.
