My car is an automatic, but when it shifts from 1st to 2nd it seems to "jump" as though I am driving a standard and don't know whaty I am doing. What's wrong?

This is known as harsh shift. It could be a fault with the shift solenods. Usually such problem would trigger trouble codes which are stored the PCM.

Get a scan done to retrieve for trouble codes and let me know the EXACT code if any found.
