After what mileage on a kia cerato 1500cc diesel should a timing belt/chain be changed? What indication does the engine give that the belt may be due for changing. How is the best way to ascertain if hte belt may need changing. The car has just been purchased and has some service history but no indication if the belt has been changed

Timing belt replacement varies according to location as weather plays an important part. There would be no indication when timing belts are about to fail.

The best way to go about is to remove the timing belt cover to inspect the timing belt condition and determine if it is due for replacement.
