My hyundai santro has EFI petrol engine with company fitted compressed natural gas kit. When I drive my car on CNG, petrol quantity guage also goes down. On CNG, the responce of car is also a bit affected but there is no vibration in car. Smell of unburnt petrol comes from exhaust pipe. Please help me in this matter.

Check the fuel cut relay. If it is bad, fuel would be discharged by the injectors when CNG is being used.

Do you think I would have to replace it? Is it an electrical component?

Yes, it is an electrical component. It is the part that the wires from the injectors are attached to. You can try repairing it. It is a relay unit that has 4 relays inside the box and if any of the relaya is/are faulty, it would not cut the fuel injector when CNG si being used.

The relays are soldered onto a circuit board and you can get them easily from electronic shops to change them.
