My rear windshield wiper assembly was broken off in an automatic car wash.I removed the nut holding the broken piece of wiper arm assembly, but the piece remaining, I can't budge. Any ideas how to remove this to install the new arm. Thanks. Steve

The stud is usually tapered and has splines. The easiest way to get them off if corrosion is the problem is to use an air cutoff tool with a 3" cutting wheel. Make a slot in the side, then use a large flat blade screwdriver to crack the remaining piece. Line the area with cardboard or masking tape so the sparks don't burn the paint.

Thanks so much, doc. But I thought about it and figured it had splines. So I found a small wheel puller at work and got it off in a jiffy. No need for tape or proective paint covers. Thanks again. Steve
