I have a 06 h3 hummer. This thing makes a heck of a racket when you take off. Sounds like the fan is spinning at a high speed. I asked a mechanic he said it was my fan clutch. Now I notice when it's extremely cold outside it is as quiet as a mouse when you drive. He said that it was my fan clutch. I bought a new fan clutch and was in the middle of tearing it down to replace and I noticed that it had been replaced once before and looked really new. The bolts have been turned and the clutch spring even opened and closed. So my question is does the fan clutch go bad quickly? And why when it's cold does it sound and drive perfect? Do I go ahead and replace the fairly new one since I already bought one? What else could it be?? Please help
