I brought my car in for service at 56776 miles they replaced my purge seloniod and valve. After only 1876 (58648) miles my engine lite came on had and oil change the code 58649 was on for all six cylinders. Engine oil low causing miss fire code to set. Low oil caused them camshaft to lose control of proper ignition timing. My warranty good until 59000 miles. At 62279 miles (3631 miles) my car was was idling rough and it would stall when I preessed the gas Took my car back to dealership and they found car was four quarts low on oil and burning excessive oil. They found tsb on this condition stateing to check pcv sys if all is ok Pistons and rings replacement is nessisary. They replaced the rings, chain, tensioner, pistons, gasket kit, bearings kit. Is this all related and could have been

You can always call gm on the 800 number and let them investigate they may do something for you. But don't expect a lot. There is a tsb bout replacing pistons and rings anditmay haveto do with the air cleaner being incorrectly installed causing debris to be sucked into engine doing damage. If the vehicle had the engine light on and caused cams to go out of time the may have warned you about not checking oil enough and maybe put the car on a oil consumption test. With yours if it's not driven aggressively meaning over 3000 rpm a lot, then consumption is 1qt per 2000 miles. As I have no background on this I can't do a lot. But when the pistons and rings were replaced according to the tsb there is anew design so that may have something to do with it. That particular info will never be given out however.
