2005 Saturn Ion Running rough

I just replaced the ignition switch on my Ion. Afterward, the check engine light is flashing and the car runs very poorly, especially when accelerating. If the engine gets to about 4000 rpms, it stalls. It didn't do this before I replaced the switch. Any connection between the two?

Really non that I can think of I have replaced tons of those ignition switches and never had that happen. So you replaced the ignition switch because of random no starts?Then you learned the pass lock and this is how it runs now?Have you checked for codes in the computer yet?

Yes that's pretty much it. Also the key was not coming out of the ignition sometimes. A google search indicated it was the switch. I have not had the codes checked yet. I guess that's next.

For the no starts the ignition switch but for the key stopping at the acc position and not turning off?Would be the micro switch at the base of the shifter.
