Leaking hose

My 2005 Pontiac Wave 1.6 ltr. Hose that goes from the radiator to the motor is leaking right by the piece attached to the motor. Is it a gasket piece or what. Can my dad fix it and do you have a picture to show me.

I'm guessing that you are talking about the large hose. The biggest problem with replacing this hose is that you will have to drain some of the coolant out. There is a radiator drain at the bottom of the radiator. It might be the hose itself leaking or it could be the gasket on the thermostat housing (this is the piece that connects to the engine). It's most likely the hose.
