car overheating, coolant runs out like a faucet near the back of the motor. Not near the radiator itself, can it be a cracked hose? Battery also died and won't keep charge, all happened at same time, is that just a coincidence?

In the rear of the engine are freeze plugs. Check to see if that is where the coolant leak is. Also, check heater hoses and make sure it isn't coming out of the intake or rear of the head.

As far as the battery, if coolant is getting into the alternator, I would say they are related, but the alt is in the front of the engine compartment. Therefore, I feel they are seperate issues.

Let me know what you find.
