We have had this car in and out of a shop going on the past 30, 000 miles. The check engine light will come on it reads: misfire detected. So have now replaced the spark plugs and wires 3 times in less than 3 years. Now it even runs rough at idle, at stop lights, retrieving the mail and so on. Every time we get those parts replaced no problem for a short while then it starts happening all over again.

Please help point me in the right direction.

. WELL MY NIECE DRUG HER '03 6 CYL. MUSTANG IN HERE THE ONE EVENING--IT HAD BEEN SKIPPING FOR A WHILE.

MY BROTHER IN LAW HAD REPLACED THE WIRES BEFORE.'CAUSE HE WAS TOLD TO. NOT BECAUSE HE HAD FOUND A PROBLEM

THEIR PHILOSOPHY--DRIVE TILL IT WON'T GO NO MORE!

THEY SORTA FIGURED IT WAS THE PLUGS, SO THEY HAD BOUGHT SOME AND SOME NEW WIRES TOO

IT WAS LATE WHEN THEY GOT TO MY HOUSE. UPON POPPING THE HOOD WHILE IT WAS RUNNING, IT SORTA APPEARED TO HAVE A LITTLE LIGHT SHOW GOING ON UNDER THERE!

WE REPLACED THE PLUGS, AS IT HAD BEEN TIME TO DO SO LONG AGO.

BUT. THE LIGHT SHOW WAS THREE DIFFERENT PLUG WIRES THAT HAD RUBBED ON METAL UNTIL THEY WERE ARCING ON THE METAL COMPONENTS THEY TOUCHED. DUH. THIS IS THE RECURRING PROBLEM!

THE ALL TIME AWARD WINNER WAS THE ONE THAT WAS RUBBING ON THE BRAKE BOOSTER---IT WAS GNAWED A THIRD OF THE WAY THRU!

THIS TIME WE INSTALLED NEW--LIFETIME WARRANTY WIRES

I HAD PURCHASED ABOUT FOUR FEET OF 3/8 FUEL LINE FOR "STOCK" IN MY GARAGE. THEY SORTA "SCAMMED" IT FROM ME. BEING THE BEST-US UNCLE SHE HAS!

WE THEN CUT THE FUEL LINE INTO "NEEDED" LENGTHS--SPLIT IT AND COVERED (POPPED IT OVER) PORTIONS OF THE WIRES, AT ANY AND EVERY PLACE A WIRE "DID" OR "COULD" RUB.

THAT WAS THE FIX FOR HER. AIN'T HEARD NUTHIN' SINCE!

YOUR TURN
