I just replaced my throttle position sensor and now when my car is in park it is idling at 1500-2000 rpms and it is also downshifting hard when I let off the gas or come to a stop. What could be causing this?

My car was idling high and hesitating when I was pushing the gas and then my check engine light came on and that is what the code was.

Codes never identify bad parts, just failed systems. It needs to be monitored to see if it is wiring, grounds or the sensor or pcm. Throwing parts at it is expensive and usually wrong

was the trans ok before you replaced the old tps?
