My car has set DTC P0174 persistently. It has been to the dealer 5 times. First they cleaned the MAF and the intake system. That worked for two weeks and then the code came on again. They cleared the computer and reprogrammed (reflashed?) The thing. That worked for a few weeks and the code reset again. This time they replaced the intake gaskets and the MAF mounting rubber and that worked for two months. The code has now reset and the light is on again. Surely they have checked the fuel pressure thus eliminating the pump and the filter. How would I go about checking the injectors? What else could be going on? No drivability problems show up but gas mileage does seem to fall about 2 mpg.

The only thing I can tell you is Cadillac does have a Technical service bulliten on this and it is to reflash the ECM, which in your case was done, so now, before you get over 80,000 Mi. or 8 years, make them replace the ECM...These are federal emmission standards, and this car will NOT pass the next state inspection for a sticker...they own it until you reach those mileage and time limits....here's the bulliten:
Check Engine Light On, DTC P1101, P0068, P0171, P0174 (Reprogram ECM) TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN Reference Number(s): 09-06-04-032A, Â Date of Issue: Â August 06, 2009 Superceded Bulletin(s): 09-06-04-032, Â Date of Issue: Â August 6, 2009 Related Ref Number(s): 09-06-04-032, 09-06-04-032A ARTICLE BEGINNING CONDITION Some customers may comment on an illuminated check engine light shortly after a cold start with no engine performance concerns. Upon inspection, DTC P1101 (Intake Air Flow System Performance) may be set. In some instances, DTCs P0068 (Throttle Body Airflow Performance), P0171 (Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1) and/or P0174 (Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 2) may eventually set as a result of the DTC P1101. CORRECTION Verify the condition. If the diagnostics in SI for the conditions described above do not isolate a fault, reprogram the ECM with the revised calibration that has been developed to address this condition. Verify that the multiple diagnostic interface (MDI) that is being used is configured to the PC that will be used. WARRANTY INFORMATION For vehicles reprogrammed under the 8 year/80,000 mile (130,000 km) emission controller warranty, use: Affected Model(s): 2004-2006 Cadillac SRX, XLR; 2005-2006 Cadillac STS; Equipped with Engine RPO LH2; Please Refer to GMVIS Supercedes: This bulletin is being revised to change the labor time information. Did you make a typo, should it be p0171 and p0174, lean banks 1 and 2? Most often it is an indicator that you have a vacuum leak somewhere on the intake, more that likely is it a split plenum boot where the intake meets the aluminum housing near the throttle body.
