When I first turn on the ignition, the 'service electrical system' comes across my computer. My deville is 2005.

It's making you aware that there is an issue somewhere. If someone puts a professional scan tool on it, there will be more specific codes in there. Check all your lights, including brake lights first.
You might also be able to pull codes yourself by pressing OFF and WARMER on your A/C when the unit is off and it should go into diagnostic mode.

you need a obd 2 scanner to get the codes scince 1996 when obd2 started .

Yes, it looks like you will need a professional scan tool capable of reading body codes.
