The malfunction indicator light came on on my dashboard. When I got an oil change they told me it was code PO492, something having to do with the secondary air injection. What does this mean? What needs to be fixed and what might it cost, approximately?

There are several components / parts in the secondary air system.

It could be as simple as a $1.00 fuse or $500+ in parts and labor. The only way to know is to diagnose the system.

1.8T or V6? Similar system, but the V6 has more components.
