2004 Kia Rio Engine light on/off

For almost two months, the light engine was on but suddenly the light was off. I think that the problem is still there, since that in the month of December I did use the car less and may be that cause the engine light to turn itself off. Should I wait until the light engine warning comes on again or should I take the car to the mechanic as it is?

Take it as it is it will be stored in the computer
