Disc brakes normally run very hot even on a short distance. If you ride the brakes or use your left foot to stop then this is probably the case. Most people say they don't but if you look at pedal on lh side then they are as it will be worn down. If you think there is a problem jack car up and see if wheel spins freely if it doesn't it can be a frozen caliper or another problem so have a pro look at it.
