2004 Ford Focus body panel problem

A mechanic told my son he needs a body shop causeof how we pulled his ford focus with a chain son hooked it in front bottom left corner unde car near bumper and mechanic said he spread the core about 8 inches wat he talkin about or is he riping him off. Top mount broke causing the engine to give some and cvc joint broke we pulled it with a chain very slow and about a mile we were there mechanic said fix it around 300 or a little mor with mount but said chain spread the core not the radiator core and said it needed to go tpo body shop then changed his mind said he could fix it for around 200.00 more havent a clue wat hes talking about as far as a coire concerned have any suggestions help please due friday

Chains are hard on parts especially cheap unibody cars. Some have tow hooks or use the sway bar. Sounds like unibody where mount is located got tweaked. You've seen the tow straps they advertise for a reason. They absorb shocks that may damage parts. Not fool proof but better than chain.
