This morning when I started my Durango it was a bit sluggish, but it started. I idled through my neighborhood because of the speed limit. When I got to the "main street" I accelerated and the Durango just continued to "idle." I got it back home (less than 1/2 mile) and I noticed the temperature gauge climbing. Made it home, parked it, the temperature was going back to normal. Turned off the key and the Durango acted like it still wanted to run for about 5-10 seconds, but did shut off. Now some 9 hours later and after work, I decide to check a few things. Used my keys to unlock it remotely, but nothing happened. Step closer, try again, and still nothing. When I opened the door with the key, there's no power/electricity. I get out my trickle charger, hook it up, properly, and within 5-10 minutes it says the battery is fully charged. Still no power though. No interior lights, nothing, but 1 small red dot of a light on the instrument panel where the alarm indicates, armed. One last thing, one day a few weeks ago, I heard a "ticking" sound coming from under the hood. Keep in mind that this was before I had even started it and/or put the key it in. I heard it in the morning before starting it for work. I did start it, and it ran "fine." I did not hear the ticking sound again until one day last week. After driving it home from work, after I turned it off, it did the same "ticking" sound until I started it, just to see if it would stop ticking, and it did. Help!

The ticking may have been a relay but hard telling which one. Try resetting security system and maybe change battery in remote. Check items in pic and starter relay. Otherwise scan for codes.
