2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer Replacing ADJUSTER.

Good afternoon. I need to replace the part numbered 37 in the attaced diagram ( also shown in the web page:

)
But I don't know how to replace the part No 38 in the same diagram. It is a thin piece and I think it is very easy to damage it.
Could you tell me how to proceed please?

If I am correct, I am looking at a differential and you need to replace the pinion bearing and seal. If that is correct, part 38, the pinion seal, is not thin. Actually, it will need tapped into place with a hammer. I always place a piece of wood over it so I don't damage the seal and then tap on it.

Does this sound like what you are doing?

Thanks a lot.
In the attached picture it is shown the piece I want to replace and the thin piece I do not want to damage.
Now I think I was wrong and I did not pointed the correct pieces in the diagram.

That looks like an axle seal. If that is correct, it is basically as the one I described earlier.
