Where is the camshaft position B sensor? Do you have a photo of its location? Is it fairly easy to replace?
This SRX has a 4.6L engine.

My car's "Check Engine" light cam on while driving. I called ONSTAR and they told me to refuel and restart. Light stayed on and engine ran a little rough when I accelerated from a stop until about 10mph. The garage told me that I need a new camshaft sensor. $390 parts & labor. What does the part do? And do you think that I need it? Or, could it just be vapor in the fuel tank that will eventually extinguish the light? (I know, a lot of speculation on your part) I'm just not sure what the expensive sensor does and if it is, in fact necessary for the car to run smoothly.

Mine is having the same problem. I have a 2004. Replace the part yourself. I was told it was easy to do and the part is only about 70 bucks. The sensor makes your engine run at peak performance. It shouldnt harm it to drive it as is though

Where is the sensor located. Is it really that easy to replace. If so do you need a special tool or anything to change it? Is it a plug in on the top of the engine or do I need to start ripping the engine apart? Thanks
