I had to jump start my car Friday to get it running. I started with no problem with the jump Saturday I had to jump it again but this time the car did not turn over. The battery appeared to be dead but after connecting the jumper cables for a couple of minutes all of the power seemed to be ok. Just the car would not start. What could cause this?

A power surge can knock EWS/DME alignment out and then no crank no start will occur. See your BMW service provider and NEVER jump start the car or you could well be destroying sensitive modules, if the battery is dead, replace it or find out why it is dead.
