Do you mean it will not stay shut? If so, there is a mechanism in the trunk lid that might have a broken spring. The spring is not available as an individual part. The entire catch can be replaced to have the trunk close. I think it is a poor design. BMW did not offer the 528 in 2004, that model was discontinued in 2000. The last 7 of the VIN will tell the model number or the "B" pillar ID plate will have it. Realoem. Com has one for an E60 bodystyle and the part number is 51248196401
