2004 Acura TSX starter

The starter on my car needs to be replaced. The starter on the car has the external solenoid on the starter but the new starter I bought does not have the external solenoid. Can the new starter be used even though it's different or do I have to buy a new starter.

I ran into the same thing with my '88 Grand Caravan. Chrysler buys the majority of their parts from outside suppliers, and they usually have parts from two or three suppliers in case one can't keep up production. My original Bosch starter had the solenoid bolted to the top of the starter motor, and the replacement Nippendenso has the solenoid built into the housing. As long as the replacement starter bolts up with the same bolt pattern, and it has the large terminal for the battery cable and the smaller terminal for the solenoid, it should work.
