Sometimes my car will not start

Sometimes my car will not start. Had it towed to a garage (where it of course started) and they checked the starter, battery, and alternator. All good. Replaced battery 3 weeks ago. Replaced starter bout 2 years ago. There is also a faint smell in the cabin some of the time that smells like acetone, but a bit sweet.

I bet the starter motor has a dead spot. You will have to leave it with them till the problem happens to verify.

At this point, you cannot fix something that is not broke
