2003 Saturn L300 Throttle problem

When I turn the car on, the RPM goes up to 6000 RPM. Is it a sensor problem? I unhook the wire on the sensor and the RPM idles. If it is a sensor problem, where can I buy one and how much do think it will cost. Thank you very much

So is the engine revving that high?Or the tach just going that high? Is the sender engine running when this Happens? What sensor are you unplugging? You need to clear the codes and see which ones reset since you set codes by unplugging sensors.
