My sunroof is stuck in the vent position with the back open & one side higher than the other. When pressing the close position on the switch, nothing happens except for a click. When pressing the open position of the switch, the roof moves back about 1/2" on one side & stops. Pressing close again moves the one side of the roof that moved back forward the 1/2' then it stops. I've checked the fuse & it's fine. I referred to the Haynes repair manual, & it said to check the continuity on some of the terminals on the switch. Checking across the first 2 terminals on the right, there is no continuity as the book states. Checking across terminals 2 & 3, there is also no continuity, but the book says that there should be continuity. I also ran a jumper wire to ground as the book states but the roof did the same things as above. I do not want to take the motor out as I understand that it can be quite a lot of trouble to get the roof re-timed so that it works correctly. The book states that you should not take the motor out unless the roof is closed which it is not. Any suggestions?

Can you hear the motor running when you press the switch? If not then motor may be bad and you will have to manually guide the roof panel down into place.

Seems like the switch is faulty then. There are two little hydraulics at the front of your sunroof. One on the left and one on the right. They sit at about a 45 degree angle. Take something like a window scraper and push on the backside of the hydraulic. It will push in and you will feel your sunroof go down slightly. Do the same thing to the other side. Get out of your car and you should then be able to push the sunroof the rest of the way down from outside of the car. If it doesn't push down easy don't force it or you may damage
