I have a 2003 automatic Mitsubishi eclipse GS. I recently broke the stick of the stick shift and the **** wont fit on and let me shift gears. Would i have to buy a whole new shifter or what do i do? and where could i get one?

Is it the screws for holding the k n o b has been detached resulting in it dropping off?

You need to compress the release button before the k n o b can be reinstalled. If that fails, you can manually press the rod inside the shifter housing to release the gearshift.

The extend of the damage depends on what need to be done, a complete shifter or only the k nob.

Try the junkyard for a used unit.
