Im looking at a used car to buy and I want to know if it will be reliable. Its a 2003 lexus is300 with 150k miles on it, the owner says theres no mechanical issues with the car but my parents are worried about if something will happen to the car and the repair costs. Im going to be driving to college and its 25 minutes away and back and want to know if this 150k mile lexus is300 will be somewhat reliable in the future.

That is tough to answer not knowing the car. The vehicle is a good vehicle, but I have no idea how it was used or maintained. As far as driving that far every day, if it was taken care of and not abused, it should be fine. Keep in mind, your parents concern's are rational. This is a high end vehicle and repairs will be more expensive.
