It sounds like the Idle Air Control Valve, IACV or the Throttle Position Sensor may be bad. The IACV is on the intake manifold near the throttle body. It has an electrical connector. Wiggle the connector around while car is running to see if it has a loose wire. Other than that it may have failed and needs to be replaced. If pushing the gas pedal does not keep the car from dropping in idle or stalling, the TPS or Throttle Position Sensor may be bad and needs replacement.
Before you do anything go to an Advance Auto or Auto Zone and have the Trouble Codes pulled. They do it for free.

You can remove it and you will note a pluger on it which is activated by a solenoid. Its movement changes port sizes to keep the idle steady. With the car running. Disconnect and reconnect the electrical connector and see if the plunger moves. If it does not, it needs to be replaced.
