Hood latch cable replacement?

Hood latch cable broken under hood where it attachés to the latch mechanism. The car's hood is completely closed and locked. The hood won't move at all and is positioned flat against the car body. There is no body damage. The cable is still attached to interior hood release but the cable is broken or become disconnected from the latch.

Since the latch is in the front use a long screwdriver to release the latch, have someone pushing down on the hood while trying to release this will make it easier. Here are some guides to help you. (Below)Please let us know what happens so it will help others.
