I am getting a vw golf diesel '02 for nothing, however there is a problem with the injectors. I want to try and see what the problem is myself, I work with aircraft so I'm not a complete technical novice. How can I diagnose the problem and if it is the injectors how hard is it to replace them? I've heard of the diagnostic tools but don't want to go buying something off ebay if it won't work, is there something I can plug in to find out the problem?

Thank you
Graham

You can plug a scanner into the diagnostic port and get live data. Look for long and short term fuel curves. They should equal 0, or close to 0.

If short term is 6 and long term is -6, then fuel is good.

Thanks for your reply
Do you know where I could get a scanner from? So if they don't equal 0 then it is probably a problem with the injectors?

Injectors or O2 sensors.

These scanners can be purchased or all shops have them.
