I have a 2002 Satrun SC1 with 103000 + miles. I have replaced the water pump in the last year. This is my wife's car and ever since I have know her 2+ years the car has been hard to start. I have replaced the spark plugs twice. The last time they were less than a year old. They were white-ish burned looking. The wires are a little over a year old. I generaly have to turn the key and wait 2 to 3 seconds before I attempt to start or the the enginee will turn over for a about 4 seconds before it will start. I have also noticed a loss of power and gas mileage. It does not use any oil. The head gasket is new. The service engine light is on and I am currrently not driving it. It does not blink and it has a miss when it is running. Any idea on what is wrong?

Check engine light on

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.

Can you take it to a auto parts store like auto zone and have it scanned for codes and give me the exact numbers it has? That would really help also does it only miss at idle or different times? As far as the starting goes do you ever have to hold the gas pedal all the way down to the floor to start the car?Keying it up for a few seconds suggests you have a fuel pressure bleeding down issue which isnt common on that year saturn. Also the lack of power and fuel mileage could be a bad coolant temp sensor then can also cuase starting issues and a whole lot of other symptoms and its pretty common for them to go bad on that car. Also those sensors leak coolant into the connector corroding them and if thats the case the connector would have to be replaced also. The more details you give the better.
