Car stoped running today after a 60 mile trip while stpoed at the mailbox to get mail. It wont start back up. I did notice a little rpm flutter while on the interstate one time but thought maybe my foot sliped off the gas pedal. Only issue I have had for the 40K miles I have owned is that the car sometimes will idle high and rev up and down at stops, 1000-2500 rpm, like it is hunting. I am going to check for spark and fuel first. Any thoughts on what might have happened. I read your previous post about crank position sensor. Since its at the house I will have to tow/trailer it to parts store to get check engine code read. Thanks

Let's start first by see if it has any spark. Don't worry about the code's yet if you have to tow it some where for that. Check spark if you have that then let's see what your fuel pressure is. Do you have a multimeter? Also when it doesn't start is the security light on solid or flashing? It's most likely a bad crank sensor. If we have no spark were going to test the crank sensor we can use a multimeter for that. Let me know what you find.
