Code P0702

I own a 2002 Mercedes C240. I scanned my car with a scanner and it says a code p0702 transmission system control electric. The car does not accelerate over 30 miles. I am not quite sure what the problem is so I need some help. There is also a service engine light that shows up and the car does not start without jumping it. Could the problem be that the battery is bad?

Hello,

Yes if the battery is bad it will cause all kinds of problems because the system voltage will be low. I would start by replacing the battery and then clearing the codes to see what come back up if anything.
