Mazda Protege5 OBD code P0715

I have a '02 Mazda Protege 5 2.0 auto, and my OBDII scanner gave me a P0715 (Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction), and the car is definitely reacting (lurching through gears). Is the sensor something that I can easily check/replace? I am fairly handy, but the car's internals are fairly new to me. Thanks.

Hi, were you able to fix this yourself or did you get it done at a shop? I am experiencing the same problem with the same car and I was quoted at $350 to fix it. Would love your feedback on how much it was to fix it on your car. Thanks.
