Started this AM no lights or warnings. Warmed the car up while putting top down (5mins.)
Drove it @ 0ne mile and was trying to accelerate normally when car started sputtering and would not go above 30mph without doing so.
That's when I saw the "restricted performance " light on.
Tried turning the car off and re-starting. Same scenario.

History: bought the car in feb 2013 61,500 miles. Almost immediately replaced bushings in front suspension to improve ride. Then the hydraulic lines in convertible top failed. Replaced. Son left interior lights on and ran battery down. Removed from car and charged. Ran fine for 2 weeks. Now this.
Car now has 62,000 miles on it. I drive it once a week.

what is going on?

Thank you for your quick response hmac300. I scanned for codes and here is what I got:
>P0332
>KNOCK SENSOR 2
>CIRCUIT LOW INPUT
(BANK 2)
All other scan reports were OK. As to fuel I have only used premium gas in the car since I have owned it. Only other light I have ever gotten was "coolant low" and then it only took about a cup of water to top it off and no codes on that since.
Thanks again for your response.

This cold be a couple of things like a bad sensor, poor sensor contact with block or the wire shorted to ground. If it screws up it will retard your timing and give you low performance. Of course look for something loose on motor on Bbank (rh) if it's loose it willc ause sensor to go off and retard spark, like a loud cam/follower, tapping noise etc. It's on top of engine under intake manifold.
