it can be a bad cat, an air leak on the exaust sytem on that side (right) or you could be leaking a intake/headgasket gettting water on it occasionally coooling it down

oops it cold also be a bad O2 sensor but you need a code scanner that can read both O2sensors to see if they are working correctly

Does an OBDII read both? Thats what I used to check with originally.

yes bu tyou need to have the more exspensive model that will read it. most only read the code or erase it. Usually the more exspensive model runs about $500 at least and you are better off dumping themoney into the vehicle instead of using something like that.
