I have a 2002 F150 and I removed the plug on the oil pump cover right next to the oil filter. I lost about a 1/4 of a quart of oil. Do I need to refill the cover with oil or will the cavity fill up with normal oil flow? I am not much of a mechanic. Thanks.

I have included a picture of it. It located at the bottom of the cover next to the filter. I was under the impression that this model has a oil pressure switch that will shut down the engine if it fails to see pressure. Is that true? Thanks for the help.
