I have a 1999 ford ranger 2 wheel drive with 3.0 v6 and when I put it into reverse it****** really hard and when I put it into drive and push the pedal it wont go persay and it makes a noise underneath and when this happend my check engine light came on so I was wondering if it was my universals or something serious

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on.
