Hello I'm not sure if the problems are related but as soon as I changed the belt my power steering started leeking and the bearing on the pulley squeaks so I did a cheap fix and put stop leak in it. And about 200 miles down the road I parked and stared to hear a knock sounding like it was coming from the bottom end. So I dropped the oil pan and checked for specs or shavings of metal. And there was nothing. I also checked the tourque specs and the rod and cap bolts and they were also or. The rod and crank bearings seem to be fine. And now the noise gets louder when its in neutral or park. So now I'm thinking maybe tourque converter. I'm not sure what it is can you please help.

Check the flywheel to see if it is cracked. Could the noise be coming from the PS pump?

Oh I have not checked the flywheel. And my buddy at a machine shop said to try taking the belt off start it and see if the sound is still there. But I'm not sure It's a pretty loud knock. And then when I first start the van in the morning the pump really whines.

It wouldn't hurt to remove the belt first just to see. As far as the noise when it is cold, is the pump low on fluid?

No the fluid originally ran low because the lines ran underneath the engine to like what seemed like a little cooler and one of the metal lines coming out of it had a crack so I went to part stores looking for one and no one sold it so the person at Napa said just run the lines straight to each other and by pass it so I did and the fluid has not run low since.
