2002 Chevy Malibu

I have a 2002 chevy malibu with a 2005 3.1 J series motor that has 60k miles. Recently I was driving and the motor began to tick and shake and the check engine light began to flash rapidly. I had only driven about 1 mile when this happened. I stopped immediately and checked the oil and the level was fine. What do you recommend I do first and then there after.

The first thing to do is have the computer scanned for trouble codes. If the light was flashing, there is a code stored in the computer. Most nationally recognized parts stores will do it for free.

Have that done and let me know what you find.
